Autism/ ADHD
ADHD and autism are not problems to be fixed. They are neurotypes; different ways of experiencing, processing, and interacting with the world. Therapy isn't about making you appear more neurotypical. It's about understanding how your brain works, identifying what supports you need, and building a life that works for you.
Many neurodivergent people come to therapy because they're struggling with things that often accompany ADHD or autism, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, OCD, chronic stress, self-esteem challenges, or difficulties navigating relationships, work, school, and daily responsibilities.
Lots of neurodivergent people have been told “they are so self aware” in therapy, but don’t feel things have changed for them. We can move beyond that using somatic approaches to reach the memories and survival responses that keep certain patterns in place.
Together, we'll focus on practical problem-solving and realistic goals that fit your unique needs and strengths. That might include managing executive functioning challenges, reducing overwhelm, understanding sensory needs, improving self-advocacy, navigating social expectations, recovering from burnout, or creating systems that support your daily life.
I take a neuro-affirming approach, which means I recognize that many struggles neurodivergent people face are not caused by being neurodivergent; they're often the result of living in environments that weren't designed with neurodivergent needs in mind. As a neurodivergent person myself, I understand the lived experience of existing in a world that doesn’t always feel designed to meet your best interests.
Therapy is a space where you don't have to mask or justify how your brain works. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, work through challenges that are causing distress, and build a life that feels sustainable, meaningful, and authentically yours.
